Nuclear Fusion in 5 Links

This is the first post of hopefully many in a series called “… in 5 links”.

Martin: Today I am talking about Nuclear Fusion. This is the process of joining two atoms and releasing energy rather than splitting them as a Fission reactor does. It has a lot of potential to produce clean electricity but it is very difficult to perfect.

Howstuffworks – Gives a simple easy to read overview of a fusion reactor.

Wikipedia – Goes a bit more in depth, not for those scared of equations!

Youtube – A video of a fusion reaction at JET. It looks incredible.

JET The site of an experimental Fusion Reactor in the UK.

France An experimental reactor is being built in France, perhaps this will make the big break through.
